Virtual Meetup: About the community

Hi Community,

This Thursday, the 18th of February, we will organize a discussion about the community.

The community is today roughly one year old. We had lively discussions for all those times and we count more than 400 members. It is time to reflect on how we can make this even more valuable to each of us, and possibly to other persons interested in Language Engineering.

In particular, we could discuss:

  • What topics are you interested in for the presentations
  • Who should we invite to give future presentations
  • How we could facilitate discussions in the forum
  • How we could promote the community, to make other persons join

We originally planned to have a presentation from Niko Stotz on Textual editors vs Projectional editors, but it has been moved to the 4th of March, because some guests could join us on that date.

Remember that in December we changed the link to join the Meetup!

How to connect

To avoid other security issues is now necessary to register for the meeting. The registration should be necessary just once and be valid for all the next meetings you will participate in. I understand it is a little extra effort but it would avoid problems like the ones we encountered:

Registration for the Virtual Meetup

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. It will also permit you to add it to your calendar.

Time

It is hosted on Zoom at 6PM GMT+1/CET (you can use this link to figure out which time is in your timezone: The Time Zone Converter).

Cheers,
Federico
